Winter season

Summer season

This snow sure resort has a great reputation with serious skiers and snowboarders but also has all of the facilities required by a family looking for a mix of sporting activity, professional childcare and a wonderful mix of restaurants to cater for all tastes and ages.

Tignes shares the world famous Espace Killy ski area with its neighbour Val D'Isere but does not charge the same prices making it very attractive to families or those on a budget. The resort consists of five villages, three of them high up in the valley clustered around the frozen lake. These villages range from 2100-2300 metres and offer facilities to suit every taste.

Tignes offers a huge variation of skiing with wide open green pistes for the beginner,a large number of nursery areas for young children and challenging blacks/off piste for the adrenaline junkies. The skiing scenery ranges from the wonderful views from the Grande Motte, mogul fields, tree runs, snow parks and endless off piste.

Something for the evening
Tignes boasts more than its fair share of high quality restaurants catering for every nationality, taste and budget. The Caveau in Val Claret or Le Bagus Café in Le Lac are two worth mentioning.

If you're looking for some nightlife, you'll not leave dissapointed as Tignes' eclectic mix of bars and clubs has something for everyone.

For the non skier there are increasingly more activities on offer to include paragliding, ice diving in the frozen lake, husky driving, horse riding and of course the old wallet bashing shopping.

The funicular railway offers all year round access to skiing on the Grande Motte glacier as well as catering for mountain bikers in the spring/summer who blast down the professionally designed course. In the Spring of 2006 a state of the art leisure complex was opened with a range of facilities to include swimming pools and water slides.
